Thy Kingdom Come

In this fourth in a series of short devotionals on the Lord’s Prayer, by Pastor Peter Linnecar, he shares how the words “Thy kingdom come” are relevant for us today.

When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, and He reached the words, “Thy kingdom come,” this really would have struck a cord with them. They were aware that somehow what Jesus did in His ministry was reaching out to people. He kept referring to the importance of the Kingdom and shared many parables relating to the Kingdom.

You and I are part of the Kingdom of God, if so be that we are Christians, if He is inside you with His life pulsating through you. “Thy kingdom come” – there is no doubt whatsoever that what Jesus did on the cross was to establish His Kingdom.

He died for people. And it is people that make up the Kingdom of God where His name is to be revered. He is the King of His Kingdom and we are part of this Kingdom
