On the 7th September Avanti Ministries held their inaugural training day for evangelists. We are grateful to the leadership team at Trinity for allowing us to use the premises at Trinity Church in Brentwood which allowed us to host the event. This was a new initiative with the aims to equip, empower and encourage evangelists who work throughout the UK. The day started with worship led by Tim Raggett and devotions led by Kalbi Massey. Tony Anthony the founder of Avanti Ministries presented the vision and mission statement which included the plan for the next four years.

We were pleased to invite Peter Crook retired director of Evangelism Explosion UK to lead session on an alternative way of presenting the gospel message. Peter Crook - Guest Speaker

We had a fun practical session where John Lawson, Paul Senior and Peter Ruck gave their testimony in 5 minutes. Our thanks to them for their willingness to take the challenge of how God came into their life, what they were like before and how their life was now changed considering the time constraints and an audience of evangelists. Tony Anthony, Kalbi Massey and George Osborn gave feedback, on specific areas with the purpose of encouraging those in the audience to present think about ways in which they can take their testimony and present it concisely. George Osborn was then challenged by someone to show how it was done... He went under the five minutes! There was lots of laughter during this session and everyone was encouraged.

Tina Russell-Mott

The final session was led by Tina Russell-Mott with the aim of giving practical teaching for personal study development. The teaching looked at Mark’s gospel which is clear and concise as a result it is seen as the evangelist’s gospel. Study using commentaries enables understanding of the context and traditions of the text; when it was written in order to see what is relevant today.
